Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.
This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.
Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…
We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I love the preciseness of the single syllable words that cut through the ‘warmer’ adjectives of ‘scented, voluptuous murmurs (great description!), and flickering. I also liked the way you had the cows hunkered together in that middle stanza as though they were toughing it out between the night air and the flickering stars.View attachment 11413
Night air: sharp,
But sweet scented.
Clear, fresh-water cold.
Voluptuous murmurs
from cows behind
sparse hedgerows.
Speckled sky of
Stars flickering.
April snow promised.
