• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi everyone,

I've been away for really quite some time, certainly far longer than I'd intended, but I'm back, not as intensely as before, but back nonetheless, writing for fun.

I see a few old faces and some new ones. If there were a bar I'd order champagne!

Whoo hoo! Welcome back @Rich. :) It's AWESOME to see you back!! Hope the family is well :)

Uncanny timing, were your ears burning? We've just started up a Craft Chat team and we're doing 'Show, Don't Tell' (for after Xmas). I was only reading your thread last week - and I thought that was a blast from the past, but this is far, far better :) :clinking-beer-mugs:

Hi, welcome back, looking forward to ‘meeting’ you properly on here. X
Thank you, and likewise!

We are all well, thanks for asking, branching in new directions (or trying to) and the little ones keep getting bigger (just as I get my head around one parenting challenge, they go and mature a bit and hit me with all new challenges).

Ha! I thought I felt a bit toasty round the gills...

Exactly what Rachel says. Your ears must be burning! In a nice way, mind.
They are now! Looking forward to seeing the new craft chat! :)

Absolutely brilliant to have you back, Rich :)
Thanks, Pete, it's good to be back. I've missed this place! :)

Great to see you back again. Now, if there's anything you're not sure about you only need to ask. :)
Thanks, Jonny. It's like coming back to an old haunt and finding they've had the builders and decorators in. Everything has moved! Looks good, though, and I'll be sure to ask if I lose my way. :)

Do not trust the beard. It's a dull and greying trickster. The fleshy thing the beard is attached to does the writing.

Returning upon a brand new moon, just after a solar eclipse! Lovely to 'see' you, Rich.

A Gemini-Sagittarius eclipse too, meaning among other things 'hidden writing' across 'foreign shores'.

But which shores and what writing! My mind is now spinning. And by the way, that would make a great title for a novel, Hidden Writing Across Foreign Shores, a tale of passion, adventure, and lost love rekindled...

Lovely to see you too, KT :)

I have visions of you, head over your keyboard, typing with your chin.
Ha! yeah, it happens.

Glad to be back, bestie :)

And just in time for the holiday festivities!
Great to see you too, Geraldine! Festivities are good thing to return for :)
