We have a powerful messaging system that is available to every member. It facilitates collaboration, private messaging, making introductions to other members, and so much more. The messaging system is really the heartbeat of the Colony.

You’ll see if you have any new messages when you log on, because the little email icon next to your Colony name will light up, showing the number of new messages you have:

Click the icon to see all your messages and to respond to them.

Terminology – messages are grouped into “Conversations”. A Conversation is really just a thread, but since it’s private, we call it a Conversation.

Starting a New Conversation With A Member

Click "Send direct message" at the bottom of your list of messages:

The recipient’s name should be their Colony name.
Type a few letters from their name and the Colony will automatically suggest a few names for you to click on.
