• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

This was written for romance writers, but with the exception of the HEA or HFN point, it applies to ANY writing. :)

Angela James is the editorial director of Carina Press, Harlequin's digital arm. She was also with Samhain Publishing at one time. I met her in person when she came to speak at our RWA chapter in Nashville, many moons ago. Very intelligent and savvy woman.

Romance Writing: 5 Ways to Write Romance With Respect

I couldn't write a romance for toffee. My favourite romance so far remains 'Katherine' by Anya Seton....but that's as much a historical novel as a romance, Katherine and the Duke of Lancaster, John of Gaunt. There's an element of romance in mine, a few false starts and a sexy moment in an owl coop, but the novel isn't a romance, and it's left somewhat open at the end. Will they, won't they? I indicate that they probably will, but I didn't want a cosy ending and left it at that, with room for a sequel...or not. A mistake? Maybe.
