Concluding that everyone was doing their best - also means concluding that their best was piss poor and left a lot of damage behind. Going forward involves assessing that damage and concluding you can be destroyed by it or try to wriggle out from under it.
 
I'd like to know the background to the photo and the comment. I don't see the immediate relevance.

Pic is taken on the Barbican High Walk, with either Shakespeare or Lauderdale Tower to the left and Ben Jonson House to the right. Olivia Laing is sitting in the re-wilded meadow/garden.
 
Probably no connection at all. Pic seems to be from a series of publicity photographs all taken on the Barbican High Walk...

Anybody know different?
