Thanks everyone - it was great: the DHH guys are clear-sighted yet kind. Their view on my WIP, synopsised: great idea, fabulous prose, slightly scratchy dialogue, be careful not to let the ideas overwhelm the core position of the protagonist in the narrative. Get back to us as soon as its finished.
