I have done NaNo several times in Nov - a great experience. I considered joining a cabin for July but we're starting a new business mid-July and I won't have enough brain space! Got to keep a roof over our heads! Good luck with it, @Emurelda

I've discovered all this post november last year..so haven't done the "proper" one. But these camps aren't as demanding as I can set my own goal rather than aim for 50k.

Good luck with the business...the most exciting stage is the launch.

I had signed up for the msg board a while ago, but was put off by having to work in cabins. I like to have feedback, but the pressure of a group setting for composition wasn't appealing.

You don't actually HAVE to participate. Some do but so many don't. Not sure why you feel pressured. Hope it doesn't stop you from taking part in things you might enjoy.

To be honest I am only using these writing sites to create good writing habit for me until I don't need any external motivation but that the desire will be burning within me that I can't ignore it. And just get lost into my world so that it writes itself, as they say.

I believe they call it 'the point of no return'...I can see the sign post to it now. Nearly there :D

Hey look for me, SoulRaven444 I have my settings on 'no invitations' atm, but i can change it if we get a cabin set up.

Honestly, because I'm a very slow, deliberate writer. I can't write well on the fly -- I have to take my time. And being an editor, I like to go over everything a dozen times before I let anyone see it.

I'm not at all slow compared with myself several years ago, when I self-edited as I wrote. THAT made for terrible writing, but I finally got over it.

On the other hand, when I attempted a novel last year (during NaNoWriMo), I was determined to just write the pages and not be slow and deliberate about it. The result was atrocious. I would never want anyone to see those stabs.

I take the middle ground now, but I'm still on the slow side.

Who's started? Is it literally GO tomorrow then.

I'll be driving to Birchington tomorrow...writing beside the seaside...lovely.
Nice... I'll be at it from where I'm sitting haha... probably many many 2am's to come lol I may not make the 50,000 mark, but I decided not to lower it. I can do 5,000 in an evening if I hit my stride... I just need to hit it :p

Since I'm editing, I don't think mine will count but I'll still see how much I can get done in the month. Maybe a brand new project next time around.

Nothing lol I just write. I live in my head, therefore I'm usually already in the clouds and ready to go :p
