• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

To the boy branded wild

To the girl marked insane

To the child who cried too much

Who couldn’t be tamed

To the one the others whispered ‘bout

To the one who was too loud

To the one who preferred trees as friends

To the one who hated crowds

To the one who searched for solace

In the hidden realm of books

To the one who could never be normal

To the one who got the looks

To the one whose mother told the rest was

Manipulative and tinged

To the one whose siblings said they wished

Was a little less unhinged

To the one who messed up the family, who carried all the blame

To the one who might begin to believe

From him all their issues came

To the one who cuts herself again with every small mistake

To the one who thinks with each step back

His life this world should take

To the one who becomes smaller

With every biting word

To the one who others boldly insist

Feels things that are absurd

To you, my friend, my heart, my soul

To you, my love, I say

Quitting is sometimes the healthiest thing

And you can walk away.
