• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Poetry This earth we share

The World Between the Words
You’re only as far as my god
And he is very near
When the jasmine blooms
You draw closer
Every cloud which gathers and grows dark
Brings you nearer
Every dog’s bark
Every key struck on the piano
I won’t deny the ache
I’ll swim in it
When the sun sends apricots to my horizon
I’ll willingly bid it farewell
Knowing it goes to shine on you
To warm your bones
As it just warmed mine
