• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

The trailer for Project Hail Mary is out.

Interesting creative choice to reveal not just one but two of the major plot points that drove suspense in the book. We've lost all sense of mystery and wonder. The whole point of the story was that he wakes up and doesn't know what happened, and now everything is revealed and it's only the first trailer!

Yeah, ok, it's got pretty visuals and a quipping Ryan Gosling. It's certainly easy on the eye. But where's the storytelling? They might as well release the whole thing as a TikTok short.

Well that seems par for the course. Haven't seen a film in years with good story. When I saw Casa Blanca, Jaws, and Back to the Future in the theatre again they blew me away just because there is nothing comparable out there now.

I make a point of never watching trailers for films I want to see even if I've already read the book. Films I don't think I'll bother seeing or are on Netflix which I don't subscribe to: I might watch the trailer just to get the general gist of the thing (case in point: Adolescence on Netflix - couldn't watch so found trailer on youtube to keep up with what everyone was talking about). Trailers these days are ALWAYS full of spoilers.
