Scathing random seasonal etymology

Norse goddess of winter Skadi/Skathi was a jötunn, a race of giants with attributes linked to the Sami way of life, skiing, hunting & seiðr magic used by Norse witches/volva & the shamanic practices of the Sami.

Her name is linked to the word origin of 'scathing/unscathed etc.'

Norse mythology does not join up with astrology, which arose in Mesopotamia. But it has been pointed out that Skade rests her arm on the gushing water urn assocaiated in another culture tradition Aquarius, fixed water, sign of deepest winter. Known to the Sumerians as the'curse of rain' because they associated it with flooding...then followed by Pisces season and the time of the fresh water melt, only adding to the risk.

All grist to the writer's mill. There is nothing in history, Nature and Psychology not encapsulated in mythology- or astrology for that matter, whatever else one makes of it.

I was lucky enough to hear a talk by several Danish women archaeologists on their take of horses buried with women. Let's just say it was Scathing. Warrior buried in a Swedish Viking grave was actually female

A seeress from Fyrkat?

Woman's grave from Fyrkat. The woman was buried with unusual grave goods. A wand, poisonous henbane and jewellery. Perhaps a seeress?
