• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

November Flash Club is now open.

Genre / Format: Rock Song Lyrics (verse, chorus ect)

Prompt / Song title: Giving Freedom

Word Count: 100-200

As always, use the writing prompt as well as the word limit given to write a piece of flash fiction. Entry is open to all members. Feel free to enter more than one.

To enter the competition, simply go to Make Your Entry Here and scroll down. You will find an area where you can post your work. There's a 'Nom De Plume' box for the entrant’s name. Don't put your real name. Instead, please use a pseudonym. You can choose any pseudonym you like. Add your entry underneath, then click 'post reply' to submit.

To have a winner, we need voters, so please vote for your favourite piece of flash by pressing ‘like’. If more than one grabs you, vote for both. But please don’t vote for your own. Any self-votes won’t be counted.

At the end of the month, I will count up the 'likes' to determine the winner. I will then announce the pseudonym of the winner. The winner will then need to declare themselves, as in: 'Hey, it's me. I’m XYZ. I won. I won!!!!!'

New participants: if you haven't yet, please also read the Welcome to the Flash Club page. Welcome to The Flash Club

That's it. Any questions, PM me.

See you next month.
