• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Poetry Nightloop

The World Between the Words
As day surrenders to the night,
The cityscape keeps up the fight,
Emitting artificial light,
Where dark should be.

People rove the kinetic space,
Not ready for nightfall's embrace,
Delighting in the frenzied pace,
And then there's me.

My soul takes on a darker hue,
In the nightloop.

There's comfort in the deepest blue,
In the nightloop.

A quiet place where nothing's new,
In the nightloop.

Just doing what I always do,
In the nightloop.

While everyone is on the town,
I choose instead to stick around,
From a dim window looking down,
No need to roam.

When finally I do go out,
It's by a more secluded route,
A quite familiar roundabout,
And then I'm home.

My soul takes on a darker hue,
In the nightloop.

There's comfort in the deepest blue,
In the nightloop.

A quiet place where nothing's new,
In the nightloop.

Just doing what I always do,
In the nightloop.
