• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

A poem I wrote in March of this year:

I told my boys this morning
that my outfit was very stylish:
a red button-down, under a black suit
a blue and black striped tie,
all pulled together, I told them
by a pair of peacock socks
with all the same colors.

My son looked in in the eye,
a hand on my arm and,
like an adult indulging a child, he said
"Your outfit looks great dad."

@dave.crowther Was that taken on a camping trip? Great photo.
yes. My boys and I have been working slowly though the "high peaks" in the Aidirondack mountains- there are 46, or so of them; this was taken about a mile from the trailhead of a mountain called Seward. It was a mighty task, and the day of the hike (this picture was the day before) it was raining and ~45 degrees farenhite. He made it about 90% of the 7 miles up, but had to turn around from cold and fatigue. :( was dissapoint there, for sure. But we had such a great time!!
