• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Poetry i am

The World Between the Words
Inspired by the lovely Halsey’s I Am Not A Woman, I’m A God

Goddess, you say
When you see how
Diamonds speckle my skin
Honey drips from tongue and teeth
Hair shimmers with the gold of summer and sunset of autumn.

Godless, I am
When I feel how
Diamonds lengthen to horn
Prehistoric demon
Teeth serrated, sculpted to tear your flesh
Chunks of muscle coated with crimson honey
Until you’re a discarded carcass
Alive, but wishing I’d killed with the first cut.
Live, for I am merciful.

Another that refused to run
When beauty transfixed her.

Another who’d rather be destroyed,
Than trust a woman to destroy him.

God, I am.
