• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Have I fallen down a portal back to 2005? I've so missed forums. Who knew they would be a fad like CB radios.
Remembering the greatness that was the CB radio. Facebook be damned. By the way I was born in Kansas, USA. Wanted to see the world. Saw the world. Now I want to write about it while living in Wexford, Ie. Currently living in a maelstrom of 15 Spanish mustangs, 2 lurchers, 2 border collies, 2 confused cats and an acting troupe that followed my son home and now shows up periodically to be fed. Hello, which autocorrect just changed to Help and I had to change back. Nice to meet y' all.

Your cats are confused? Mine vary between cool to psycho. But I'm more confused than them, for a moment there I thought you said you had fifteen cars. Whoops. And just so you know, Litopia is the best writing forum/community you are ever likely to come across in whatever decade you happen to find yourself.
Welcome!

Welcome aboard @Pamela Jo :) I had a good old giggle at '2 confused cats' :) :)
If you remember the old Monty Python skit confuse your cat..? Ours have no need of outside assistance. Maybe because they are the few, the tiny, the feline up against the rest of us. I think they wished we'd go away to work in the morning like other cat's people so they'd have the house to themselves.

Our cats dream of cool or psycho. They never get a chance as they are the most regular, sane creatures on the place. Spanish Mustangs are the horses that carried crusader and Comanche. They are preserved in time and can be recognised in Medieval illustrations. I'll stop there because if I don't I will bore you past tears.

At least the cats can complain about the rest of you to each other. The idea of real Mustangs (horses not cars) running around is terribly romantic.

They are wonderful. I'm part of an effort to preserve them. I never planned on being the crazy mustang lady... but....

Lol, you sweetie.
Is true I have no filter.
Looking forward to seeing your work, and getting your help with mine. And the mustangs sound awesome.
:octopus: Octopi don't have filters either. There wasn't an emoji for "Looking forward to your honesty and promise to give the same in return given you understand that I respond with a readers eyes and ears, not as some kind of writing authority about what should or shouldn't be...." Forgive the ellipsis. I am the Ellipses Queen.

Hello @Pamela Jo and welcome! Any horse that carried crusader and Comanche must be saved. Your maelstrom sounds enviable. My dad hailed from Wexford (King Street, apparrently). I hear it's beautiful. I'm sure you'll enjoy Litopia as much as we enjoy seeing you here! Have fun! :)

Hello @Pamela Jo

A very warm welcome to Litopia. Hope you enjoy it. Here's a good link to point out a few of the key areas of activity.
How-to Guide

But, don't be shy. Best thing to do is dive right in.

If you need any further help getting around the colony, then please send me a PM and I’ll be happy to assist if I can.
