I just joined and wanted to say hello.

Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.
This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.
Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hello, @NormD and welcome. Delighted you found us. Whatever you write, I'm sure you'll find lots of like-minded people here on Litopia.
Once you get to know the place, check out the Workshops, for giving and receiving critiques.
You can always submit the first 700 words of your own work to Pop-Ups if you'd like some advice on the beginning. That's on YouTube, Sunday evenings (6pm UK time, though of course NY will be different but it's easy to catch up with). There's excellent advice every week on writing and publishing in general. You'd pay a lot of money for the editorial advice our guests give for free. And it's great fun.
