• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

It has been discussed here before, I know. More than once. The spouse has a non-fiction project; a maritime database, many years of work in it, he is thinking of publishing as a download and was wondering how he could safeguard it against ebook piracy and I found this, not terribly reassuring article.

Experts here might be able to add further value...again.

If it's a database, could he not sell time-limited. password-protected access to its contents? Then he keeps the database rather than giving it out in a piratable form, but subscribers get access to the data they want. I'm sure crooks could find their way around this too, but it might just make it too much trouble for them?

Thanks Katie-Ellen, interesting article. I am not too familiar with e-junkie, but it sounds, if the writer is correct, to be a fairly secure product. Does anyone have experience of it?
