• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I wasn't being entirely facetious during Pop-Ups. Dover has a fascinating history. Pics taken one warm September evening up by the castle. Il Matrimonio hails from Dover (plus all the many places he grew up as an army child, and lived as an army officer himself for 25 years.)
And the Port of Dover by night

Just a little further along the coast is a delightful town, Deal. Overlooked, but old and pretty and great for a quick dash out of London.
