If it's a bonafide company that exposes their sales, many people now go down this route. And if a book sells well, it's a possibility to then interest a mainstream publisher. However, there are lots of individuals who set up online 'companies' in the hope that you make money for them without them having to do any work or advertising. So market research is the key, I think.

It is an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing -so pretty big.
 
What a pretty picture.

I don't see why you shouldn't try an imprint that only does epublishing as long as they do a large degree of promotion. That would be the only benefit as far as I can see.
