• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hello,
I am Michelle, Shelli to my friends.
I am a fifty years-old woman, she/her, originally from the outskirts of Liverpool but now living on a mountain in Wales.
I'm a self-confessed book-a-holic, and am currently reading: The Return of the King (Tolkien), Premeditated Justice (indie - Richard Cezar), Single Crewed (nonfiction - Andrew Heasman), and last night I finished Jam Butties and a Pan of Scouse - nonfiction by Maggie Clarke. The Book of Enoch is also a book I am reading. As an ordained Pagan High Priestess, it is important that I have a book of some religion or other on the go.

Among my favourite authors are JR Ward - The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Tolkien. Pratchett. Chelsea Cain. Terry Goodkind, Kelley Armstrong, and the list goes on.

Writing is my escape from reality. I have a six book crime series on the go, set in the fictional town of Beswick Stanton, that Litopia is kindly airing as a pop-up submission on May 8th. (Please tune in). As a priest with a love for myth, magic, angels and demons, I also have a paranormal romance series completed. More to come on that later.

For now, I shall bid thee fare-thee-well, and see you soon!

Hi @M Garcia Cobbett

Nice to see you and hope you enjoy what Litopia has to offer.

It’s extremely friendly round here so do feel free to get involved as soon as you’re ready.

Here's a good place to check out (How-to guide)to see a lot of what goes on in the colony.

If anything is unclear please contact me and I’ll be happy to assist if I can.

Hiya. I'm also an exiled Merseyside lass, though living in Scotland. Really interested in the Pagan paranormal story. I plan to tune in on Sunday. Pop-ups is fun to take part in, though intense. Make sure you take notes.

I have just returned from the bonny land of my forefathers. Well actually it is my grammy who was a Scot but she had forefathers lol
I hope one day to get my paranormal genre published :) In the meantime I have a paranormal romance on Inkitt. It was quite popular when it came out. https://www.inkitt.com/stories/horror/497102 I had intended to write more in the series, alas time did not permit.
Very nice to meet another Merseyside lass. Always lovely to return for a visit.

Mine is The Fifth Elephant. I laughed, I cried. I got so caught up in Sam's flight that one night I had two hours sleep before I went to work the following day. And, yet, alas no one has earmarked it as their favourite that I know of :(
:(:(

I loved Monsterous Regiment, especially Igorina
