• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

As I said in another thread, I've fallen down The Sound of Music rabbithole...again. Why does this story hold so much power over me? Not only do I think it is the best story about war ever told, but I never had an answer to that age old question: if you could invite someone to a dinner party, who would it be? I'm about to hit 40 and I think I've finally figured it out. Julie Andrews, and the character she played: Maria von Trapp (or however it's spelled).

Excuse the Aussie accent, I know we can be a bit bruff! But thought I'd share.

Who would you invite?
