• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

Hello colony,
I’m a native inner city Detroiter transplanted in Lancaster, PA. I love historical fiction, especially sophisticated writing like Amor Towles. I have several shorts published and am trying a 4th time to write and traditionally publish a novel. This time I’m working on a thriller. Food? I’m on a plant based diet because it works for my health but I love Mexican food. Spoiled in Detroit I guess. Thanks a lot colony. I look forward to getting to know you.

I also have sighthounds. In Ireland travellers , usually, cross "greyhounds" with other sighthounds _MG_4763.jpg and create that master or mistress of crime known as the LURCHER.. Near other Amish I could buy organic wheat to grind to make my own bread. Non GM varieties. If you have room for a 50 pounds sack.... Welcome. I just posted a competition for historical fiction novel. 5k word excerpt. You might want to give it a go. March 10 deadline.

I love Lurchers. Lurcher is a good name for a thriller. Soshi is our greyhound. A rescue from the Florida tracks. I’m an attorney working part time. I attend short hearings at the local magistrate courts. It keeps the lights on in this joint. Soshi travels with me and the judges let me to bring her into the courtroom. She is listed in one court file as having appeared. The judge insisted the defendant show her the evidence. She will go down in Lancaster County legal history.

I love that story. There is a medieval case of a greyhound being a witness against a man accused of murdering his master. The man was convicted and executed. My husband is a lawyer, though corporate. In the US I have 5 other family members who appear before the bar. I barely escaped into journalism. I just saw what definitely looked like a greyhound in a Phoenician panel. They've been with us a long time. 20200329_151157.jpg As you know famously flexible. Lurcher, a thriller cum comedy.
