Ow. I hate when that happens.

Ouch. I hate that. Is it something readers will notice? I find plotholes in my favourite books all the time, but after a few reads. I get caught up in the story.

Not sure @RK Wallis whether the readers would notice but I don't like leaving holes. I have to fix them for myself.
I'm now doing research (I might get arrested) to find something else lethal Mia could smuggle to the meet up. Thing is she might get searched at the door which she WOULD (and thats the hole I missed) know in advance (she would be aware she can't bring what she wants to bring).

Something in the lining of her jacket or hem that she can quickly reassemble? Peaky blinders razor in the hat bill.... As long as there's not a metal detector. And given your premise they are are all macho bare-knuckle assholes. They would have the ego to believe they didnt need no stinkin machines. Does the reader know she has a weapon or think she is going in there like a lamp to slaughter. I always like that setup.

It needs to be a fairly good explosion to punch a hole in a roof, or a poisonous gas to let off in the room. She was supposed to bring a bomb. It's such a gentle, happy story. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

OOOHHHH In a way that's easier but could she plant the bomb in the space already and then just bring in whatever detonates it? Something she could soak her clothes in the would turn into a gas when she lights it? you could have fun with her bumming a cigar from one of the men there. Mercury is very poisonous when breathed-not otherwise. Mercury, Chemical Element - reaction, water, uses, elements, metal, gas, number, name

She can't pre-plant. It's a secret location, the address of which she only knows when she escapes in a car and has a Satnav. I'll check out the link. See what I find there. Thank you.

When I was a kid I remember playing with the mercury from broken thermometers. Especially a huge one that was in the barn at my grandfathers. Then everyone became terrified by mercury. We were supposed to turn in all our old glass thermometers. It seems something she could carry that might seem harmless, but then if she has a way to vaporise it?

Great idea @Pamela Jo :) What's something harmless that could be a weapon? A bottle of alcohol and a hanky? I feel like you're all over this @Barbara. You'll fix it and your book will be stronger for it :)
