Hmmm... A real dragon. Interesting idea... I like this grandmother already. Definitely my kind of person. Maybe you could offer to paint a real Pixie or something less threatening, such as a water sprite. Have you asked her what she means by real? She may know something the rest of us do not. What's her story? She must have one.
Talking of Komodo Dragons. I have a wooden sculpture of one. It is only about 2 feet long, but it is beautifully carved. It was sitting on a shelf near our stairs. A visitor to the house was just about to go downstairs when she suddenly started screaming. She ran straight through to the other end of the house... It turned out she thought it was a real lizard.
I was being a bit disingenuous there. I imagine what she is getting at is what tone to strike with the dragon. Exciting (and scary) as in Smaug, or cuddly and approachable and harmless as in Disney
