Write a version of your first name as the last name, Baronne, for example, and use your last name to find a first name. Or parent histories.

I tried the parent history. It's full of Swiss names, difficult to pronounce (and remember) for the English speaker. I'm currently thinking 'Kaminski' as a surname, or something Italian like 'Cipriani'. It's the first name I'm stuck on most. I can't wait to get shot of my first name. I could be lazy and simply use 'B'.

Or Varya (a form of Barbara)

Or your first two initials plus the surname you like. Or choose initials that go with Kaminski or Cipriani... there's no rule that says you have to give a first name. :)

Stick to initials for first names, making sure you start with a "J".
After all, it worked brillinatly for JRR Tolkein and JK Rowling

I like Varya as a surname. Do you want to sound Russian, given your subject matter?
Barbara

@Leonora. Re Russian: No, not particularly. I'm happy to sound Swiss, or other, as long as it's pronounceable. But I'm trying to stay away from an English surname. I feel like an impostor.

There must be something silly we can do with either Wright or Reed as a surname?
