Feel for you. In my case, as a seller on street markets, my income has been patchy ever since Brexit was announced. This year my income has been virtually non-existent. Now the markets are cancelled, so definitely feeling the 'pinch' (more like a crunch, if I'm honest... or some sort of violent squeezing torture on sensitive bodyparts).
But dealing with a bunch of hunky GI's (actually don't know if any of them are actually hunky) could be considered high risk, couldn't it? (I'm thinking only that you are having contact with a large group of people living together, honest.)
I know what you mean re: patchy income. I'm self-employed. I only get paid when someone turns up. During the quiet times like holidays, I really feel the 'crunch'. But yes, suspending service had to be done. (I shall miss the hunky ones ) I've been thinking myself about stopping so it wasn't a surprise. How long this will last, remains to be seen.
@RK Capps hopefully it's just temporary but temporary might be several months. I can't see an alternative way of making an income at the moment; not with so many businesses being in trouble and so many people staying at home. But any ideas welcome.
I live in a tiny place. I suspect local shops will start to struggle and not look to recruit. Many people here have lost their jobs already and some businesses are in trouble. We're being asked to avoid unnecessary journeys, to work from home. I'm going to check out stuff like translating jobs. I've also been meaning to start a (writing related) business but now might not the best time for that.
