Feeling unreasonably bruised because the expert editorial feedback I paid for, on a couple of pieces of work of which I was exceptionally proud, pointed out a number of significant faults to which I had been blind. The editors did exactly what I wanted them to do, and yet it still hurts. Where's the sense in that?
I completely understand. I hate it when any kind of review highlights blind spots. Think of it this way: at least you have forward direction now. That's something.
