• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Just a note that we’ve added a small new feature that you might like, “Colony Karma”.

It allows any member, Colony (the new name for Basic) or Full, to toss a little cash into the pot.

Why Karma? Because what goes around, comes around.

It’s in the right-hand sidebar (on full screens) towards the bottom.

Try it and see :)

Great idea! I wish I'd had it.

We have some significant expenses coming up, specifically to do with our return to YouTube, so any and all contribs gratefully received :)

Shouldn't it say how much is in the kitty? Every tip jar has some sweetener.
That’s not so easy :) It can absolutely be done, but it will need more code, it’s not just a switch I can throw instantly.

Could go a lot further, e.g. most recent benefactors / names or anon / buy a message on the Colony home page for 24hrs(!)… anything is possible...!
