    Genres as fashion statements.

I have cosplayed a few times (and LOVE it). I'm currently putting together my next one: Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy. It's also a comic book, so I'm counting that as my literature cosplay :p

    Anybody else plot this way?

What Paul said. :) Yes, a lot of them definitely do plan their murders. My fictional serial killer is doing just that, too. :)

    Anybody else plot this way?

I had to do something similar (though much less complicated) when plotting my latest WIP. I had to create lines for each murder and then what I wanted accomplished for each character and clues left behind, using the murders as milestones throughout.

If writing is, for you, like pulling teeth, consider this.

I don't think it has to do with whether it's hard or easy. The reason people write changes with the person. Writing is ridiculously hard for me. I'm getting better at with practice, but it is difficult. I write because I enjoy the end product. It's the same reason I exercise. It's a pain in the...

    How fast do you write?

I have a full-time job, and I can crank out an 80,000 word novel in 16-18 weeks, so about 4 months. I am a goal-driven person, so I set a goal for writing 5,000 words a week (less if I have a vacation or conference going on that needs my attention instead). However, I only write about 6-8 months...

I love those things. But when you first start out, you usually can't go straight from sitting all day to standing all day. At work, we had adjustable desks so we could alternate sitting and standing throughout the day.

    Should you kill your MC?

99% of the time, you can't kill off your MC. However, it does work for some books but only if the story **demands** that it happen. It has worked for a few books including Hamlet and V for Vendetta. But. It is strongly, **strongly** advised that you don't.

    Are you offensive and tasteless?

I swear in my books when the character would do that in real life. I try to stay as real to the character as possible. My villains tend to curse more than my hero, except in my 3rd book where my hero swears more often, which I did on purpose. Side note, if Tru-View is your work's monitoring...
