    What's in a Name?

Funnily enough, there was a famous actor from my country that has had quite a few problems regarding his name... Coming from a former Communist country, the monarchy was really frowned upon.. the whole people movement and death to the bourgeoisie and all that jazz. As it was obligatory for all...

    Bangorrhoea!

Thanks, Carol! That was really helpful. The truth is, most of my stories are written from outsider perspective - lot of reflection and observation, and yes, internal dialogue, but mostly I stay away from writing the actual dialogue. I tend to overdo it, so until I find some way I'm comfortable...

    Bangorrhoea!

I don't write many dialogues in my short stories, so no, really don't use them that much. Had one dialogue completely cut out of the story - it did warrant the use of exclamation mark, but I felt it read.. a little bit forced, to be honest. Not being sure how to solve that particular conundrum...

    Spelling insanity

This is brilliant! I mean, I feel your pain, but still... brilliant! :D At least you don't need to use Google Translate . Fair warning: run fast and run far away from it. Once (really really long time ago) I was having a somewhat philosophical discussion online with a friend and he used...

    Read any good books lately?

*furiously scribbles down the titles* Wow, there's a lot here to take in :) The last book I've read is Ashok Ferrey's 'Ceaseless Chatter of Demons'. I loved Ferrey's style of writing. It's fast and witty and makes you read his books in one sitting. It's full of self deprecating humor, tackles...

    Pet Hates

This is quite an interesting read. *grins* Might as well jump in.. Agree with Paul there on not knowing the sequence of the novels, when author has multiple that are not clearly marked. Half of the bookmarks in my browser lead to sites detailing the book order in a series. Made the mistake...

    Hello All!

Thank you, Paul. Very intrigued by your Cornish Detective novels. ;) Crime novels are my guilty passion. Well, not that guilty. :D

    Hello All!

Thank you, Carol and Robinne! I've been having a lot of fun exploring here. And thank you for the compliment, Mr. Roberts :) Is Alistair a nom de plume? Either way, very lovely :)

    Hello All!

Well, as long as it helps, I guess.. My mom used a tea she made with mint and red rasperry leaf.. I can vouch it didn't taste bad at all, and she loved it. My native language is Serbian, however I was born in an era where it was still called Serbo-Croatian, so I do speak and translate from...

    Hello All!

Pleasure is all mine ;) Mind if I ask what kind of job the sage tea does, actually? Cause it sounds.. really unappetizing.

    Writing goals for June.

Well, you can go with "prehlada" [pre:hla:da:]- it means the cold in number of Slavic languages. Also, "nazeb" [nah-ze:b] Not sure if either sound pretentious enough, though:D

    Hello All!

Not a published author (unless you count brief but very successful flirt with HS/Uni newspapers), but it has always been something I thought I would end up doing.. being a career writer. It hasn't happened yet, but the dream is very much still alive, and I'm gathering the courage to live it. I...
