Help Please! Full Manuscript Required on Agent's Query Form.

Hi, I am a writer in USA and submitting Querys to agents. I have come across 2 who ask for the full manuscript uploaded with the query form. One is in US, the other has offices Warsaw and Paris. What is my protection against plagiarism if I do so? Is it Kosher to submit all but the last chapter...

I stand enlightened. I have only scoped Curtis-Brown and Madeline Milburn in the UK; both wanted blurb or query-style letters plus sample pages and a synopsis. I gather now this is not typical of other UK agencies. I'll have to take a deeper dive into CB before I venture to submit. MM wants 1)...

Yes, too informal...And I see nothing about Derrick being dragged out of his comfortable lair to find the chosen one...not to mention the irritable Barbarian. I'm not seeing the character's journey here.

Help Please! Please Help Me Fix My Book's Title! (No More DREAMING...No More TESLA!)

Without knowing more about your character...how about using your name tag JAZZISIMO in some way. JAZZISIMO STORMS SAGAN...or HEADLINES IN SAGAN. I'm not a musician, nor do I know the lingo of the jazz world but a riff on Thelonious Monk came to mind: MELODIOUS PUNK TAKES SAGAN. But these may be...

OK, you did say no more DREAMING or TESLA. I failed to 'grock' that. Sorry. How about THE NEW MAESTRO OF SAGAN? MAESTRO ON THE RUN?

How about THE TESLA ANTHEM. Or TESLA's ANTHEM.

I vote for 3 - with the modifications recommended by RG Worsey. But could your barbarian be IRASCIBLE? Maybe that's too picky. My own blurb iterations run from 1.0 to 2.5...so 15 total. Sometimes I dont know when to stop.

I find myself agreeing with LA Thomas and Hannah F. Keep trying and revising; number 2 is more engaging than number 1. Again, I'll recommend the US blog 'QUERY SHARK.' You can see the evolution from first versions to final forms - often with 5 or 6 revisions. As the name suggests, Janet Reid...

    Help Please! bloody cover letters.

Hi. I write and submit primarily in the US. I have followed "QUERY SHARK" (agent Janet Reid) and novelist Markus Sakey for examples and tips. Writing the query letter can be almost as difficult as writhing the MS. Basically, what I've learned is you have to SEDUCE the agent or (as Agent Pete has...

    June Flash Club 2020

Oh, my God. It's happening again. I'm out of my body. The first time I was eighteen; the stomach pains came first. Then I drifted up...until I saw my brother, Jamshid, being dragged into a car. Again at twenty-five. My last interrogation. They insisted I lied when i said Jamshid had been...

My two cents may be late. I'm thinking what would GEORGE SMILEY do? Act totally conquered. Ask if the dog needs water/food. Offer tea. Send out for lunch. Get them to make a mistake. Maybe slip a message out via the delivery boy.
