Randomly picked 'The Locked Door' by Freida McFadden, from the list of Kindle Prime Books of the Month. I know little about the author but have read 33%. Easy to read,, although a little cliched in parts, but I shall continue reading.

I am halfway though Ken Follett's Eye of the Needle. I have seen the film, but haven't read the novel. Not my usual type of book, but writing is precise, so will carry on turning the pages.

Spent last week on a short holiday in Madeira, and slipped a little. Well, it was a bit of a battle - tapping away in an hotel room looking out at a perfect blue sky, or, trying to ,tap away in the warm gentle sunshine. The sunshine may just have won that one... But now back in a windy, rain...

Spot on! We get bogged down, I certainly do. frustrated, the number of times I have sworn "that's it, had enough, I am wasting my life, I am taking up DIY .....' But when things go right, the Sun smiles and it is all blue skies... well until the next problem.

After a disappointing day, I am now on a roll. Spent most of he day, and a 2am to 4am stint, to complete 4K. Reread this morning and the early morning writing is actually fine. I have done a.m. scribbling before, but it has usually been somewhat lacking ... actually that may have been due to...

Not a good day .. too many distractions . Poorly written 300 word effort, but decided to erase. Roll on tomorrow :)

2500 words completed yesterday, - down to 2450, after purge of misbehaving adverbs. and paragraph trimming..

Got up to 25K, but yesterday re-read from start and now back to 24K. Have two full 'free' days ahead of me, hopefully uninterrupted, but unlikely.

Thank you, it actually is based on a true story. Once completed I will post of the first few chapters in the Lab.

Having Covid, for the third time, my writing brain isn't functioning properly. So I have returned to The White Goddess, by Robert Graves. I tried to complete it years ago, but failed badly. This time I am attempting to finish it.

Cookery books are very popular, so who knows Jonny, this small start could the the beginning of a new culinary side-line. "Jonny's Italian". However, may I suggest the addition of an egg, the next time, adding that subtle Florentine fusion.
