No snow man. It stopped. :( So I shall simply be writing and writing and writing (while standing on a wobble board in thick socks).

They're a crowd funder, am I right? Maybe they're looking for stuff with mass-appeal for an adult readership. After all it'll be the adults who will be parting with £ for funding it. Did they give you a reason? ... Either way, dust yourself off (you CAN write!!!), and move on. Maybe a new novel...

Thank you very much, Katie. It kind of confirms what I've been thinking. The knot in theory helps to make the protagonist sink deeper (the unsolvable problem, another potential solution going wrong.) But at the mo it feels potentially confusing and 'wooly' like you say. The thing is, the knot...

Llewellyn deck. When I got the deck out, the top card was the magician. It kind of resonated, but it was at the top, and from the last time I used the deck, so it's prob nothing. Anyway, I shuffled and a card flopped itself out, and landed face down, in the opposite direction of the others. Five...

Ah, bless you, Katie. Thank you for the card. (Insert hart emoji) The knot would be good for the story, I think, but it might fuzz things up for the reader if I'm not careful. Maybe it's a case of writing it in a simple way?

Drama, I think. Momentum too, hopefully. Above all, it might simplify the story into less of a knot ... But I'm not sure if I want to keep the knot?

Sounds like a charismatic person. My grandad looked like Yul Brynner (maybe a few sizes bigger in his later years). He too fought his folicular fate, and for a while he had a bad combover. He used to say he pays the hairdresser to look for hair, not to cut hair.

Phew!!! Maybe start keeping stuff in two places? And don't rely on USB only. Ever since I lost a handwritten draft of a short travel story through an open van window in Morocco, I back myself up to the point of obsession. (Of course is was the best short story ever.) I email myself my WIP after...
