Work from home started today. Still need to head into the office to do lab work when it crops up, but otherwise I’ll be at home. Wife’s school closed until April 10th - paycheck is uncertain. Feeling generally unsettled, though more with growing economic issues than virus.

I've come to the conclusion that leading with my character's wants and needs is the reason my WIP is going so smoothly. It seems obvious, but I can't believe it took so long to shake out in my writing. Hopefully, the story holds up when it's done!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I’m starting my 2019 out by taking a short reading break after a 50k+ word sprint to finish my cyberpunk MS by the end of 2018. Editing should start in a few months, then querying. This one is remarkably better than any other MS, so fingers crossed that 2019 is my year.

I lost ALL of the contests in May, but managed to garner enough feedback to revise my first chapter AND query. They are both now MUCH BETTER!!!

The highlight of the feedback? Someone fabricating a racial disparity to complain about in my novel. Good times!

Submitted an older manuscript to a twitter contest. Didn’t get pocked, but got some personalized feedback that really helped the manuscript. Plan to edit it once more than try to query it (only did around 20 before putting it aside, so it still has some hope).

A vanity press contacted me and tried to get me to send them some of my work to publish. The catch? I’d only get paid a commission by shilling the anthology to friends and family. I sent them a rejection letter.
