Iconic, truly. Made me dig into the cover designer, Paul Bacon – fascinating. Creator of the “Big Book” look… large bold title, prominent author's name, with a small conceptual image. Did a ton of jazz LP covers, too… you can see that in the imagery, can’t you?
Yeah, the change in tone from the opening fun laugh riot to the deeply thoughtful, moving and depressing of the rest left me alone in my bed for a couple days
