All About Independent Writing Groups

This is a demonstration of an an independent writing group. The group is fully independent and autonomous.

As the group administrator, you set your own rules here (you may have existing rules in which case simply import them) and you have total control over every aspects of the group’s functioning.

There is no charge to host your own independent writing group inside Litopia, although we do request that one member – preferably the group’s administrator – is a Full Member of Litopia.

Litopia is obsessive about writers’ privacy. Any work uploaded here remains the copyright of the author, and once material had been deleted, it’s gone for good (we obviously have a backup strategy, so it may take a few weeks for all copies of work to disappear from our server).

Each group must have at least one administrator who decides on the group rules and will grant or remove membership. They can also determine the group's visibility, e.g. private / public / indexed or not by search engines, etc.

There can be unlimited sections in the writing group, and within each section, unlimited forums. In practice, most groups will only need a small number of forums.

All the facilities you'll find in Litopia's wider community are available to all independent writing group members – including alerts, the direct messaging system, live chat, and more.
