What's Going On

Hi Kristen,
I have some free time this weekend if you want me to take a look at some of your work.
Just PM ME and apologies I haven't been on here properly for some time.
Kindest Regards,
Alix :)

Thanks Alix, there is a bit posted in the forum, but it is all rather incomplete.
Hey Alix :) Not a bad idea… let me ponder, it might interface with something else I’m planning. Also, quite keen to get the “Slurb Club” going – a place to develop Synopses / Blurbs. A fresh pair of eyes is indispensable when you’re trying to slurb...

Throwback Thursday - Considering I've just finished watching the first ever Submission Surgery :)
Would you consider creating like the Flash Fiction exercise, a Cookies exercise to practise emotional impact in our manuscripts, like a weekly exercise and you give us a theme. You can announce the best one/winner on POP-UPS every Sunday. Just a thought because I feel us writers would really benefit from it.
No creative writing (since a flurry after Pete's input the other day), but I have produced a 10cm high pile of photocopies & original documents to support my application for French residency. (Just mine, 3 more to go) that's nearly one ream of paper = 6% of a tree.
That moment in your novel, when your protagonist decides he has other plans than you. Who's writing this thing? Erm, not me, apparently.

I finally managed to view a good chunk of this live and was very impressed. Informative, helpful, interesting and good production values too. A lot of work went into that, well done to all concerned.
Fish (vegan!) chips & mushy peas for lunch - definitely back in Britain!

If I heard the TV right tonight, this vegan fish and chip shop just made the news down here in New Zealand!

How cool!

We make vegetarian fish and chips at home, out of slabs of battered and fried eggplant. Hadn't thought to add seaweed to it to get that fishy flavour though. have to try that this summer.
My charming daughter said, "Maybe you are not meant to be a writer. Maybe you are meant to be a taxidermist or something." Ha, bloody ha!
New dog and I are doing fine. The rescue org said 6 years old, but my vet says she is more like 2 or 3. This explains the puppy-like behavior, vertical leaps and twirls when she knows we are going for a walk. I tried to add a picture - it didn't work. She is a black and silver Alaskan Malamute, on the small side at 70 pounds.
Plagued by tech problems tonight, but we got there. Show needs heavy post-production, will be up in a couple of hours.

Can't wait to see it! Caught the first 20 minutes, but had to go then. Is there anything we can do to help ease the load pre and/or post production?

Not sure if this is helpful in sorting the gremlins: A strange thing happened when I watched on facebook. A couple of times, a video jumped in of something completly non litopia related. At one point I had a clip of a hairdresser, another time a guy in a hospital. Both times it happened when you had just switched to a new sub. They were strange clips too. It was a bit like a highjacking by another 'radio station' .

The final edit turned out quite well, just posted in the Colony. Hopefully will be interesting/useful for Litopians to hear directly from a hot publisher. Very pleased Barbara got such a good response :) Yes, there may be ways of sharing the production burden, let me think about that.
On today's Pop-Ups there's a thriller type of thing from Barbara, middle grade fiction from Luke, a weork of satire/high concept low morality from Robert, a family saga from Diane, comedy horror from Stephen and a work of sport/politics/coming of age/sexuality/race from Bruce. Join us for the first show in the new series, 6pm UK. https://www.facebook.com/RealLitopia
I have a new dog - new to me, anyway. I may have to put her in a book.

We re-homed a little rescue dog, a Scottish terrier mix. I had written him into my book and then had a recurring dream over a few nights with him in it. Two weeks later he came to live with us :) He is utterly loved, as though he's been part of our family forever (sitting at my feet as I type!). Best of luck with her <3
