Very definitely. We're living in a world today that SciFi predicted when I was a lad. Strangely though, Orwell's vision of 1984 was a bit adrift, maybe only with the timeframe. We're already being told what we should and shouldn't think. The only problem I foresee is that it will be impossible to get a group of academics to agree on anything as it sounds like they will need to agree on which novels predict future conflicts. Worth a shot though, but governments and the military seem to be incapable of learning from history, let alone fiction.
