Thanks everyone for the kind feedback and support on my submission. When I wrote it, I tried my best to put the advice from Pete's live events into action, especially from the seminar a few month ago when @AgentPete and Peggy talked about cookies, and about the importance of making the readers want to turn a page at the beginning of a novel. Very useful, so thank you, P and P for that talk. I shall keep the notes by my computer, next to the spider.

Thank you Nic, Geoff and Pete.

Very pleased, Diane. Do take advantage of the Writing Groups area here to develop it.

Sorry I couldn't be live, that was fun. Thanks Pete, and congratulations to Barbara. I think that's pretty much the first time I've seen a 'call it in'. Is the book finished? Did he actually call it in, I wonder?

Thank you Chris. The novel isn't finished yet. Nic said somewhere at the end that he would want for it to be completed before considering it fully. He said the last third of a thriller is the hardest part to write. So I shall get cracking, get it done, then go for it.

Keep us posted @Barbara, I think you've got the Colony well and truly rallied behind you :) Perhaps we can send you bug spray to get rid of the spiders.

LOL and thank you, Nmlee. It's great to have all this support. It means a lot. And the help I've had in the Colony has been brilliant.

If this spider business continues, I might just have to take you up on that spray offer. Serves me right for living in the sticks.

Finally had the chance to watch the entire thing. Sorry I had to walk away from Discord on Sunday. Had lots of things going on at home last weekend. :)

I love the new format of Pop-Ups! It moves quickly, and I enjoyed hearing different voices reading them. I think having only 700 pages certainly speeds things up, plus it challenges people to really work on the opening paragraphs. :)
