Tried three times to watch the show, but the buffering and stuttering make it impossible.

Hmm, thanks @CageSage.

This is a bit of a puzzle. We were actually streaming in HD to three destinations simultaneously - YouTube, Facebook and Twitch (I’m not sure any Twitch gamers are really interested, but hey, we’re educating the masses ). That might have had an impact. However, the YT recording is fine, i.e. no buffering. Difficult to see how that could be the case if the signal we were sending was compromised. We didn’t get any warning from YT either about low frame rate etc.

So not sure what was wrong. In the new year, we won’t be streaming to Twitch, and only sporadically to Facebook. We’re first and foremost a YT show. p.

I'm the same. I'd thought it was just me, but now I think about it, by the time I watch there are 60-70 odd likes. Yesterday, there were only 7 including mine. Views are down from normal.

That’s very odd. I’m wondering whether it has anything to do with the edit I do. I always cut the pre-show stream out of the final recording, something you can do directly within YouTube. However, I see something weird has happened to the resulting YT file… the public version is playing uncut whereas the version it’s showing me in the CP is fine. Just done another minor cut to see if it will regularise by itself over the next few hours. But I have no idea why this might affect the live stream itself. YT is a very mysterious beast, if we had to pay for it I’d say their customer service is atrocious. However… fortunately we don’t have to pay An equivalent streaming service (e.g. Vimeo) would cost us over £1k p.a. So we have to grin and put up with YT’s oddities.

A belated thank you for that! I wound up listening to the YouTube feed during my commute. I couldn't comment or vote, yet thoroughly enjoyed the program.

BTW...I first tried the podcast link but it didn't work.
