Currently, we are roofless in one section of our house, and had to move a lot of stuff from one place to another. Opportunity to toss some of the dross collected and never touched.
Found: a box with all my training notes from a Master (martial arts), which read:
Excellence in technique does not make a master, however, mastery is not reached without excellence in technique.
I think I may add that to the wall of aphorisms I plaster next to the computer. It applies to martial arts, to writing, to singing/music/dance, art, everything. Just knowing how to do something, and do it well, isn't enough unless the passion and intensity accompany it.
It was worth the digging.
