Decided to put the new novel I *just* started on hold in favor of whipping my space opera into shape for querying later this year. While it's finished, I'm going to do sweeps for filler words. Going to polish this one until is shines!

Thanks, all. She’s much better now, but we still are with the doctors trying to figure out exactly what she had (it was bad...she couldn’t move her arms for a week). Hope everyone else is doing well as we move into the holiday season!
Long work days are killing my writing, but querying is actually going somewhere with my YA novel. Have one full request out and another from a small publishing imprint. Sooo...fingers crossed and stuff!
I lost ALL of the contests in May, but managed to garner enough feedback to revise my first chapter AND query. They are both now MUCH BETTER!!!
The highlight of the feedback? Someone fabricating a racial disparity to complain about in my novel. Good times!
Submitted an older manuscript to a twitter contest. Didn’t get pocked, but got some personalized feedback that really helped the manuscript. Plan to edit it once more than try to query it (only did around 20 before putting it aside, so it still has some hope).
A vanity press contacted me and tried to get me to send them some of my work to publish. The catch? I’d only get paid a commission by shilling the anthology to friends and family. I sent them a rejection letter. :P
