Interesting website for authors (maybe)

I'm not sure what to make of it at a first glance. The small presses or publishers that most interest me are those where I buy their books, like their cover choices and find their publications well-edited and produced. There are some excellent publishers around, even if they're battling financially.

A few concerns/questions...

1. I don't see anything about a submissions process or editing. It's difficult to tell, but I think they are simply one more place to upload a book for sale, like Amazon, Smashwords, etc.

2. The flow chart showing the "royalties" is a bit confusing. Well, more than a bit, actually. :)

3. They're brand new. And there are already plenty of third party vendors where authors can upload their book for sale without paying the platform one red cent in royalties. :)

I'd wait a bit and see what develops with them before sending them a book. After all, literally anyone can upload a book to Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, or Kobo, and it will be for sale within hours. You can also offer it in print through a few of those vendors. AND, you keep all your profits. :) If that's all Authorship is offering, they'd have to do something really unique for the author before I'd hand them part of my profits.

Either that or I'm missing something. :)

I agree. And this strange business of being paid in tokens... I'm certainly not going to rush into anything with them.

I really don't understand the token thing AT ALL.

A few other things I noticed when taking a second look convinced me this is nothing more than a vanity publisher trying to disguise itself as a new kind of one-stop-shopping platform. My advice to you and others: RUN AWAY.
