I read her apology letter. It reminded me of the scene towards the end of The Blues Brothers. Carrie Fisher has been trying to kill Belushi, and he is now grovelling in the mud in front of her. He starts listing all the reasons he missed their wedding, pulling out excuse after excuse. He gazes into her eyes and she melts, “Oh, Jake,” she murmurs ready to forgive him. He promptly drops her in the mud and leaves her again.

Hmmm.
